In their recent publication Helping Hands Facing Africa surgeons Dan Saleh, Kelvin Mizen and LeRoux Fourie discuss the role of the trainees in the provision of humanitarian
care for plastic and reconstructive surgical disease. The article, which is also based on the surgeons’ experiences with Facing Africa, expresses the belief that there is a place for trainees in reconstructive surgery on humanitarian endeavours and hope this will become a common theme.
